Performance Judge Information

On the night of the show, a panel of celebrity judges will rate the performances of each contestant.  This vote, combined with the votes of the audience members, will be used to pick the winners of the DC-CAPital Stars Talent Competition.

Audition Judge Information

The following judges, in conjunction with the visitor ratings, selected our ten finalists.

  Dance Educator/Performer/Choreographer – Dance Exchange Coordinator for the Westtown School Martinique Cultural Exchange Program
   
  
• Glenn Pearson:
  Conductor – Musician and owner of Glenn Pearson Productions, a music and entertainment contracting business
   
  
• Racquis Petree:
  Director/Choreographer/Librettist
   
  
• Sandra Wester:
  Vocalist/Producer/Designer/Performer – Lead vocalist with Washington’s Premier Dance Orchestra for 30 years
   
  

DC-CAP Gala Competition Judging Criteria

DC-CAP held citywide auditions in December of 2009.  Students were judged by a panel of professionals, in the fields of performing arts, music and dance.  The combined scores of the judges were used to select the forty-four semifinalists.  Now, from February 3 through February 14, 2010 at 11:59 pm, you can vote on all the performances, rating each on a scale from 1 to 5, with 5 being the best. Each person can rate any performance.  Once all performances have been rated and submitted all selections will be final.  There are three categories of performances: vocal, instrumental, and dance.  Ten finalists will be determined by a combined vote (50/50) of the voting public through the official gala website and the panel of judges.  The top two rated performances in each category (vocal, instrumental and dance) will automatically be selected as finalists.  The remaining four slots will be determined by the next highest rated performances, regardless of category.  The winners will be determined by a combined vote (50/50) of the audience and the celebrity judges on the night of Monday, March 8 2010 at the The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.  All finalists will receive scholarships from DC-CAP.
