There are many joys in being a musician. On stage you are given a platform to express what’s on your mind through music. You are given an opportunity to show off what you know in a way that is pleasing to others, as well as enjoying for yourself.

Music has had a big impact on my life beyond being on stage and performing. It’s good to perform, but for me, I enjoy myself the most when I’m playing music to myself. Not only do I enjoy myself when I play, it also has a major impact on the way I think and act.

Life is full of many ups and downs. There are many times when I am happy and when I am upset and angry. One thing that I can always fall back on is music. Every emotion I have, I am always able to communicate that through my music. Music is like an escape path to me. Many times I just go into a separate room and just play until I have nothing left to say. Along with playing the piano, I also like to song write, compose and produce. So I have recorded songs that I have previously done. In every song that I create there is a certain distinctive sound they have. In times when I am happy, it shows in the tracks. As well as celebrating my happiness physically, I can do so musically.

When I am upset or angry, music has a way of expressing how I feel in a way beyond words. In most case when I am feeling down, I spend most of my time on the piano or keyboard. It is one of the only ways that I can express myself without getting into trouble by taking matters into my own hand. Without music I probably would have gotten in trouble in so many cases. Music provides an alternative that saves many people’s lives.

In sad times, although I may feel miserable, some of the best pieces that I have created come from how I feel. I also find those songs more pleasing to listen to. In most cases after playing the piano I feel better about my situation even if I don’t have the authority to change it. Knowing that I can fall on music has had an everlasting effect on my life.
